Vicki King is a figurative artist who works from her studio located at the Chocolate Factory in north London. King’s work is exhibited here on a regular basis and is also held in private collections.
King uses traditional painting techniques involving oil paint derived from pigments, both natural and artificial in origin, as used by the ‘old masters’ which have survived centuries. Quality and substainability are of equal importance, and the method of a stretched and painted canvas consisting of wood, plant oil and plant fibre, are natural in origin and also easily obtainable. Paints contain pure pigments in high concentrations, to offer rich colours which resist fading.
